Neuron BPh move forwards in its negotiations with the main pharmaceutical companies

The Spanish Business Group Neuron BPh continues its contacts with several big pharmas to out-license its compound, NST0037, a promising drug candidate in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
The company has recently attended to two of the most important events of the biotech industry held in Europe, BioPartnering Europe (London, 12-14 October) and BioEurope (Vienna, 2-4 November). Neuron’s biopharmaceutical division, Neuron BioPharma had the opportunity at these two events to proceed with the negotiations that the company had already started with different companies as well as to make new contacts with multinational companies that work on neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases.
NST0037 is a natural compound developed by Neuron BPh and is regarded as a potential treatment against Alzheimer’s disease. It also shows considerable activity as a cholesterol modulator.
Once current efficiency and safety studies have been undertook in animal models (zebrafish, rat, Mouse and dog), Neuron intends in 2010 to enter into phases I and IIa of clinical development by beginning to study the effects of NST0037 in humans.
During its attendance to these European events, Neuron BPh has met several pharmaceutical companies working on Alzheimer’s disease, following the company’s strategy to fin a partner, who support the market launch of the promising NST0037.
Neuron BPh is completely satisfied with the results of the more than 60 meetings attended and judges very positively the interest shown by the pharmaceutical industry towards the work carried out by our company during its three years of activity.
